Company Introduction

Kyulux Inc is a start-up from Kyushu University for commercializing Hyperfluorescence. It provides highly efficient and pure color emission for OLED display with low cost.
Fluorescence and phosphorescence are current OLED emission technologies and widely used for OLED displays. Fluorescence, however, has the disadvantage of low efficiency. Phosphorescence in deep blue is not commercially available, and phosphorescence has the disadvantage of high cost because of using iridium.
Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence (TADF) is the next generation of OLED emission technology which enables 100% efficient emission without using iridium. Hyperfluorescence combines TADF and fluorescence to provide the ultimate solution for OLED emission that enables all requirement for a display, full RGB color, 100% IQE, and pure narrow spectrum color. Hyperfluorescence is a disruptive technology that will replace the current emitting technologies by the early 2020s.

TADF / Hyperfluorescence

Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence (TADF) and Hyperfluorescence are the 3rd and 4th generations of OLED emission technologies, respectively. TADF enables 100% quantum efficient emission without using iridium or other precious metals. TADF, however, has a disadvantage of color purity because of its wide color spectrum. Hyperfluorescence combines TADF and fluorescence to provide the ultimate solution for OLED emission. In Hyperfluorescence, TADF acts as a highly efficient exciton generator and energy transfer to fluorescence molecule then fluorescence emits light more than four times higher efficiency than conventional fluorescence. Unlike phosphorescence, it enables full RGB color, 100% IQE, and pure narrow spectrum color.
As Kyulux announced in July, the world first Hyperfluorescence display has been developing jointly with a Taiwanese panel manufacture and is planed to launce by the end of this year. Hyperfluorescence is a disruptive technology that will replace the current emitting technologies, fluorescence and phosphorescence, by the early 2020s. The Kyulux booth will feature demonstrations of OLED panels utilizing both TADF and Hyperfluorescence.
