The theme for CEATEC JAPAN 2002 was “Broadband is here, looking to the future”. Matching the theme, there were many exhibitions related to broadband networks and wireless and mobile solutions. The keyword “ubiquitous” was a consistent thread through many of the exhibits. Large, high-quality Flat Panel Displays received a lot of attention, and there was an increase in products from the automobile market. Energy conservation was another big attraction with lots of low energy and lead/mercury free products.
