The Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011 inflicted considerable damage on the Japanese manufacturing industry and the fragmented supply chain has had a significant impact worldwide as well as in Japan. The two wheels of the Japanese manufacturing industry - the IT/electronics industry and automotive industry - have promoted recovery and restoration activities through their close involvement.

As well as being exhibitions that represent their respective industries, CEATEC JAPAN and the TOKYO MOTOR SHOW are both exhibitions that promote to the world Japanese technological strength, innovativeness, creativity, and the latest leading-edge technology. Under the joint slogan, "Team Technology", both exhibitions sent out a message on collaboration and recovery in order to support the recovery of the Japanese industry.

Which brings us to 2012.

Developing this collaboration further, CEATEC JAPAN 2012 will implement the special exhibition program, "Smart Mobility Innovation 2012 ~ Team Technology Japan".

This will be a place to promote examples of various technological industries in Japan and across the world getting together to combine and improve their skills in the creation of new things. It will also act as a "meeting place" to facilitate the creation of new inter-industry and inter-company collaborations - taking us to a strong future created by a fusion of skill and knowledge.
