CEATEC JAPAN is a comprehensive IT and electronics exhibition that is Asia's largest and the most heavily covered by the domestic and foreign media. It is visited every year by more than 170,000 people including management leaders and executives and public office executives. It is also visited by the domestic and foreign media and people from all industries including, of course, IT and electronics, as well as automotive, energy, finance and construction.

CEATEC JAPAN 2012 will be jointly held with an international academic conference on electrics and electronics hosted by IEEE, and engineers and researchers from across the world are expected to visit. The exhibition will also be held in collaboration with the automotive, energy and healthcare industries, providing exhibitors and visitors with ample business opportunities.

In light of the fact that society as a whole is moving towards a "smart" technology society, we have reviewed the composition of exhibitions and changed the names of stages to be held over the five days of the exhibition. Changed stage names include the "Lifestyle & Society Stage", where ideas on prosperous lifestyles and society connected by networks will be proposed, and the "Key Technologies Stage", which will feature a concentration of world-class cutting-edge electronic components and devices to support such technologies and lead global innovation. The "ICT Suite/Electronics Suite" will enable efficient business activities over the four days they are held. In connection with both stages, the Suite zones support the creation of business opportunities by establishing an environment where visitors can circulate freely.
