We've seen a lot of different implementation of UV sensors here at CEATEC, but none as stylish and practical as ROHM Co., Ltd's. Techno Jewelry which embeds UV and pulse wave sensors into normal, stylish wearable objects like earrings, necklaces and bracelets. By wearing this jewelry the person can unobtrusively measure her exposure to two harmful forms of ultraviolet radiation, UV-A and UV-B –both have been known to which cause pre-mature wrinkles and bmemishes as well as sunburn. Should the sensor detect higher amounts of either UV, it can send that data to an app on the smartphone, warning the person wearing the techno jewelery to put on more sunblock or simply head indoors.
