Notice of Changes to the Exhibition Preparation Schedule
After the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake, we have been confirming the status of damage to the planned venue, Makuhari Messe, as well as gathering and reviewing information on the concerning effect of radiation caused by damage to the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant. In regard to the impact of this disaster on this year's Cutting-edge IT & Electronics Comprehensive Exhibition "CEATEC JAPAN 2011"; it is our view at this time that it will not affect the staging of this event and we have decided to get preparations underway so that the event can be opened on 4th October as originally planned.
We are currently in the middle of the exhibit invitation period and are accepting applications from company exhibitors, however, taking into account the large impact the earthquake has had on companies' operations both here and abroad, we hereby inform you of changes to the exhibition preparation schedule, such as the exhibitor application deadline. These changes are outlined in the attached sheet.
We also intend to carefully review circumstances from time to time in accordance with the guidance and instructions of public bodies, and will keep you constantly advised of our review of areas such as safety and power-saving measures in relation to the event.
In its long history, exhibitions have played a significant role in promoting economic recovery and revitalization.
CEATEC JAPAN's mission is to promote industrial vitality and contribute to the world economy and society by proposing the lifestyles of tomorrow and new social systems to people through IT and electronics technology.
To achieve a speedy recovery from this earthquake and to take steps towards economic regeneration, staging CEATEC JAPAN under the joint collaboration of the business community will show that Japan continues to lead the way in technological innovations and plays a vital role in the world supply chain. In this respect, we hope to rely on your understanding and support.
With our best wishes.
