Challenge! Aiming to better people’s lives and create a low-carbon society.

To broadly introduce the latest measures taken to realize a carbon-free society by covering topics such as energy conservation and “Green” activities in IT & electronics industries, a number of stimulating exhibits, symposiums and related events will be held to showcase Japan’s leading - edge technologies that will play a leading role in achieving this objective.

Green IT Pavilion / NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization)

The rapid rise in power consumption by IT devices and systems accompanying the informatization of society is a global challenge which IT and electronics technologies are expected to play a major role in overcoming. The Green IT Pavilion will showcase green IT initiatives by GIPC member companies, as well as the activities of the GIPC and related groups.

Green IT Awards 2009

These awards are given in cases where by developing, disseminating or using IT devices and software, etc., or services and solutions utilizing these, companies have contributed to, for example, reducing the amount of energy used in society. The aim is to further accelerate green IT initiatives that pursue both energy-saving in and through IT, looking to realize a balance in society between environmental protection and economic growth.

Green IT Symposiums

This event will feature presentations on the latest green IT in Japan and abroad. It will be an invaluable opportunity to gain an understanding of the current situation and the future, including programs being pursued by the government and research institutions, company activities, and green IT trends offshore.

Asia Green IT Forum

With power consumption expected to rise in Asia in coming years, efforts need to be made to reduce power consumption across Asia as a whole. To accelerate green IT in the various Asian countries, this forum will bring together green IT professionals to exchange views and share information on future activities, etc.
