At CEATEC JAPAN 2009, Anritsu features its test and measurement solutions designed for LTE (Long Term Evolution), the next-generation mobile phone system, which enables high-speed data communications services comparable to optical subscriber line (FTTH).

Throughput Measurement supporting the LTE Standard

R&D of Long Term Evolution (LTE), a next-generation mobile communication system, are moving forward rapidly; the top telecom carriers in Japan, Europe and the US are planning to start offering those services in 2010. Anritsu has participated in formulation of the international standards together with telecom carriers and handset manufactures from around the world, to support practical implementation of LTE. At CEATEC JAPAN 2009, Anritsu is to build a virtual LTE network at its booth using the MD8430A Signalling Tester, MF6900A Fading Simulator, and other products developed applying this initiative. We will introduce a measurement system that achieved fading tests, throughput tests for 100 Mbps downlink and that for 50 Mbps uplink, in a 2x2 MIMO environment as required by the LTE standard.

Vector Signal Generator MG3700A

Reception Characteristics Evaluation of LTE Devices

MG3700A is a signal generator capable of generating and outputting LTE signals compliant with the 3GPP Standard. By outputting signals generated by the MG3700A, it is possible to assess the reception characteristics of LTE-compliant terminals, base stations, chipsets and other hardware. MG3700A can output desired signals and an interference signals, enabling to test reception characteristics with a single signal generator, where conventionally two would have been used.
MG3700A delivers superb cost performance. In addition to LTE, the MG3700A can generate and output a wide range of wireless signals, including W-CDMA/HSPA, Mobile WiMAX and one segment digital broadcasting.

Transmission and Reception Characteristics Evaluation of LTE Devices

MS269xA series of signal analyzers realizes total level accuracy, modulation precision, and wideband analysis within the frequency range from 50 Hz to 6 GHz. They can assess the transmission characteristics of LTE-compliant terminals, base stations, chipsets and other hardware. MS269xA series also features an optional built-in vector signal generator. This enables LTE signals to be output as well, making it possible to assess both transmission and reception characteristics of hardware including terminals, base stations and chipsets with a single MS269xA series unit.
