[Computing and Networking]
SHARP CORPORATION - Mebius dual-screen PC, PC-NJ70A

Computer interfaces have gone through many evolutionary iterations, from keyboards to mice to touchpads to the latest in gesture controls. It is the innovations in these interfaces that makes computing easierand more enjoyable, and Sharp's new Mebius NJ70A takes the touchpad to the next level with its LCD trackpad.

Using a 3-inch optical-touchscreen, the Mebius NJ70A brings netbook trackpads to the next level by allowing users to customize their user interface in novel and exciting ways. Rather than just a pointing device, the new Mebius trackpad opens up a world of possibilites, whether users want to keep their favorite applications at the ready or simply personalize their pointer with some favorite photos. Like the iPhone changed cellphone interfaces, we believe Sharp's unique innovation on the NJ70A will change netbook interfaces for the better.

Some exciting uses for the new trackpad include handwriting recognition and even virtual painos for musicians. The trackpad display sports a 854 x 480 pixel LCD that can be used as both a customizable interface and a second screen.

Look for other laptops and netbooks to take the lead from Sharp and make personal computing more usable, fun, and efficient. We truly believe this is the future of the laptop interface.
