Kodera Electronics Co., Ltd. exhibiting at CEATEC for the first time
Towards the expansion of new wire processing machine markets
Kodera Electronics Co., Ltd. is expanding its core business of wire processing and treatment devices, which are essential not only in the fields of machinery, automotive industries, and IT, but also in that of home appliances. This is the company's first time exhibiting at CEATEC, but hope that their presence will help expand their market and increase their brand recognition. Kodera's wide variety of wire processing machines is all arrayed in one booth. Of note amongst these is the latest "SET/Ten" casting set production machine, which has not yet been released in the market.
An industry leader in wire processing equipment, indispensable in the fields of IT and home electronics
Kodera Electronics Co., Ltd. has a range of outstanding technologies, and is an industry leader as a dedicated manufacturer of wire processing machines. This is the company's first time exhibiting at CEATEC. Marketing Department head Kunishima said "We handle a great range of devices for processing wire, and that are utilized in a variety of industries. While most people may not see wiring that often, delicate, fine wire cables are always included in items such as the IT devices and digital home electronics exhibited here at CEATEC, and they play an important part in electrical power supply. Our exhibiting at this year's CEATEC is a first step for us towards developing new markets".Their booth features a lineup of the various high-performance wire processing machines developed and manufactured by Kodera Electronics. This collection of "rare" products that have not been seen at CEATEC until now, and that are arrayed against a fresh background is proving popular with visitors to the event, who stop and look with interest. When asked details, we heard that there were some visitors interested in introducing the machines, which Kodera considered a good response for their first time exhibiting at CEATEC.
Newly developed casting set production machine to support high-mix, low-volume production
Of note in the Kodera exhibit is the "SET/Ten" casting set production machine. This product is a new development model that has not yet released in any market, providing to industry a landmark new concept. This is optimal for the high-mix, low-volume production of wire harnesses that are essential in automotive industry, various industrial devices, and in home electronics. Furthermore, using a number of these machines together enables processing as a set the electrical wiring required for multipolar connectors. Each unit is computer controlled, which gives cutting and stripping functions for individual wire colors and lengths. Additionally, ease of addition of single machines enables quick response to range of wire processing patterns. Up until now, because each wire of multipolar connectors have been processed individually, this has resulted in lost time, lost planning time, and increased wastes in storage. However, the SET/Ten eliminates these problems, and supports high-mix, low-volume production for companies where it is used.
Display of new models of wire processing machines enabling even higher speeds
Another start product from Kodera is the CASTUGNON C551HX, the latest model ultra-high-speed wire processing machine. After study of higher speed dual-end crimping, this model is 25% faster than the former "C511HX Series", capable of 16,000 wires/hour (0.34 seconds/wire). And, not only this model supports ultra-fine wiring but also increased its operability, and by simplifying applicator exchange (tool change), means that anyone can quickly and easily become familiar with its usage. Furthermore, a 5.7 inch LCD touch panel monitor provides superb legibility, while ensuring minimal space usage. Both power and air consumption are reduced, meaning lower electricity costs.Marketing Department head Kunishima said "CEATEC has a totally different quality of visitors to other industry-specific exhibitions that we've attended. In particular, there were almost no visitors who took a look at the exhibited products, and who understood that they were wire processing machines. We'd like to take onboard what we've learned here, for example by showing the interiors of IT devices and home electronics, and educating people as to that types of wiring are used and where, in order that we can create exhibits that are of even more interest to event visitors," and his comments were indicative of Kodera's motivation to their next year's exhibit at the show.
