Our Lively, Annual International Reception, Gathering Together Guests from Japan and Overseas

On October 1, after exhibits closed at 5:30 p.m., the CEATEC Japan's annual International Reception was held at the nearby Hotel New Otani Makuhari.
This was held in the "Tsuru no Ma" venue, and as well as representatives of companies exhibiting at CEATEC, this brought together invited overseas diplomatic personnel, staff from overseas chambers of commerce, and personnel from overseas government development agencies and trading agencies in a lively atmosphere, complemented by a live jazz performance.
As an introduction, Executive Vice President Yoshihiko Arakawa of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) gave a short speech. "This evening, I have the honor of addressing you. This year, CEATEC has more than 800 exhibitors, with 208 of these coming from overseas. Over the five days of the event, we expect in excess of 210,000 visitors to the venue, with more than 3,000 visitors from overseas also expected. Since 2004, JETRO has been holding the "JETRO BIZMATCH," which supports business exchange between Japanese and overseas companies who will be exhibiting at CEATEC, and this is very popular every year. This year as well, we hope that even more companies can enjoy fruitful exchange through their exhibiting at CEATEC."
After Executive Vice President Arakawa's introduction came the time for intermingling, at which guests enjoyed 90 minutes of talking, with small groups forming at each table.
