CEATEC JAPAN 2008 ended on October 4th and it was a great success. The first two days of the event were a bit cold and rainy so turnout was unexceptional but from October 2nd, the beautiful autumn sky returned and the number of visitors skyrocketed. There were 54,569 visitors on the fourth day of the event, which was a record-breaking number of visitors for a one-day period, and the total number of visitors for the entire five-day period reached 196,630. These figures certainly reflect the popularity of CEATEC JAPAN and we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who helped to make CEATEC JAPAN 2008 such a tremendous success.

The HD-PLC Alliance aims to promote and expand HD-PLC high-speed power line communications, as well as to ensure that the various products on the market can communicate with each other. One year has passed since it was established in September 2007, and this year it was again exhibiting, though on an even larger scale. Participating in this year's booth were not only Alliance members but also companies that have adopted HD-PLC, and there were many PLC-related products on display. In addition to solution-oriented exhibits that suggest new ideas for using PLC, there was also a "touch & try" area where visitors could gain hands-on experience of HD-PLC. Also, a new initiative called Green Ubiquitous and aimed at finding solutions for the global environment was the focus of another display.
