Ralink announces Industry Leading Video Over Wi-Fi Technology at CEATEC Japan
Chiba, Japan, October 2, 2008 - Ralink Technology Corporation, a leading developer of 802.11x chips, announced today that it will be demonstrating its industry leading Video over Wi-Fi Technology at CEATEC Japan.The holy grail of media distribution in the home is the delivery of Video over Wi-Fi. Ralink implements several technologies to improve the reliability and increase the range of Video over WiFi. The first is WiFi Multimedia (WMM) quality of service. Ralink's chipsets automatically identify video packets and prioritize their transmission to ensure the highest quality playback. Secondly, Ralink's solutions convert multicast packets to unicast packets over the wireless link to significantly decrease packet error rates. Ralink WiFi chips also employ proprietary DSP algorithms that add 3dB of gain to its receivers. These are just a few of the technologies implemented in Ralink Wi-Fi chips for Video over Wi-Fi.
At CEATEC booth 2A25, Ralink will be displaying all of the latest 802.11n WiFi products and leading the way to the future of Wi-Fi, where high performance, green technology initiatives and rock solid video performance co-exist.
