Over 120 years, since a man named Yamaha started manufacturing organ in 1897, Yamaha Corporation has been contributing to richness of life through business in sound, music and instrument. History of instrument and music is a long succession of each period's most advanced technologies. From now, in an age of soar of CPU power and network availability, we will take into account these three keywords "Physical, Easiness, Communication" to consider how the music and instrument should develop.

Media artist Toshio Iwai and Yamaha have collaborated to design a new digital musical instrument for the 21st century, TENORI-ON. A 16x16 matrix of LED switches allows everyone to play music intuitively, creating a "visible music" interface. "Tenori-on Logic", where the musical scale and the time are both represented by LED alignment, will liberate people from the traditional music score notation.
