Precision measuring instruments

We have developed precision measuring instruments in-house to ensure the highest quality in our watch-making operations. These products embody all of Citizen's precision electric/electronic, and miniaturization technologies.

The Digimetron is a contact-type displacement sensor that photoelectrically senses and digitally displays advancing spindle transfer volume.
Separated fixture of indicator and sensor sections allows incorporation into other machinery.
A choice of display and control indicator parameters enables compatibility with measurement needs of all kinds, including single measurement, sum and different calculations, peak peak, and three rank sorting functions.
Resolution: 0.5micrometer, 1micrometer, 10micrometer
Measurement range: 0 to 25 mm

Ferroeletric LCD

Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal Display (FLCD)

The application of liquid crystals with memory characteristics to display technology enabled the resulting FLCD to retain the data being displayed even with the discontinuation of the power supply.
As the FLCD requires no electrical power except when data is being written, it attained incomparably low power consumption, about one hundredth in comparison with conventional displays.
The FLCD is desirable for application in infrequently-rewritten displays such as electronic inventory tags, various kinds of meter displays, electronic books and calendars.

Electronic paper (E-paper)

Electronic Paper Module is an innovative product created by the adoption of electronic ink developed by E-Ink Corporation in the United States and a display element developed by Citizen.
For use in various displays including cell-phones and distribution displays, we will manufacture and sell an extremely low-power consumption, low-profile, high-quality Electronic Paper Module, the characteristics of which conventional liquid crystal displays or LED screens have yet to attain.
