FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 9, 2010 CEATEC JAPAN 2010 Concludes CEATEC JAPAN 2010, which commenced on October 5, concluded today in Makuhari Messe (Chiba pref.). A total of 616 companies and organizations exhibited in 2,255 booth spaces, including 196 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions around the world. The exhibition drew 181,417 registered visitors in the five days it was open. Following is a detailed breakdown of the number of registered visitors:

This year's CEATEC JAPAN show will promote a Japan-style Smart Grid system featuring environmental technologies related to green IT, saving, creating and storing energy, the Smart House, electric vehicles (EVs) and social infrastructures. Striving to become a truly international exhibition by answering every new challenge!

CEATEC JAPAN 2010 (sponsored by the CEATEC JAPAN Organizing Committee) - the Cutting-edge IT & Electronics Comprehensive Exhibition - will be held for five days from October 5th, 2010 (Tuesday) to 9th (Saturday) at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba City). The Exhibitors' Briefing for CEATEC JAPAN 2010 was held on February 18th (Thursday) at Otemachi Sankei Plaza in Tokyo and the venue with a capacity of 300 was nearly full, which showed that anticipation is significant for the upcoming CEATEC JAPAN 2010.

(1)The new challenges for the next 10 years will start with the first three years being a transitional period.

In the ten years since the first exhibition in 2000, CEATEC JAPAN has continually provided the world with the latest in cutting-edge technologies of the IT and electronics fields. And now, CEATEC JAPAN has proclaimed that the next decade will be the time to promote further growth in the industry by helping all participating corporate exhibitors to remain fully informed of rapidly changing social and market trends. Going beyond its role as a conventional tradeshow, CEATEC JAPAN within the next three years will aim to further enhance the value of information and its information-distributing capabilities by promoting a host of diverse international business activities. In addition to the Asian Green IT Forum and the CEATEC INNOVATION AWARDS "As Selected by US Journalists", which help to promote further internationalization by attracting overseas media, CEATEC JAPAN 2010 will focus on enhancing business opportunities by introducing new venues such as the CEATEC Suite, Technology Forum and Theme Plazas.

(2)The first new challenge of CEATEC JAPAN 2010

Making use of the experience gained during the past 10 years, CEATEC JAPAN 2010 will start new challenges aiming to satisfy the needs of both exhibitors and visitors. Clarifying of the events of each day The five-day period of CEATEC JAPAN 2010 will be divided into three phases, beginning with the Special Invitational Day on October 5th (Tuesday) that will invite members of the media, guests from government/public offices, corporate executives of exhibiting companies, and other special VIPs. The Premiere Time event, which was held only during the morning hours on the first day of the CEATEC JAPAN last year, will be expanded to a full-day event on October 5th to provide a favorable media coverage environment for both domestic and international concerns as well as exhibitors. This day will also enable influential VIPs of the industry to gather under one roof, allowing them to present important messages on new products and corporate policies. The three days between October 6th (Wed.) and October 8th (Friday) will be open to the public for general visitors and users of other industries. These three days will be excellent opportunities for a diverse range of participants to engage in B-to-B activities such as pursuing new opportunities by collaborating with other industries, furthering media coverage, and stimulating the interest of general visitors. And on the final day October 9th (Sat.), admission will be free of charge to encourage general visitors, students and business people who were unable to attend on weekdays to participate in CEATEC JAPAN 2010. This day will make available a number of special activities such as Electronics Workshops where grade-school children and their parents can participate together as well as an Academic-Corporate Exchange Pavilion (held during the exhibition) designed to enhance awareness of B-to-C, showcase the next-generation of human resources, and promote cooperation between business and education. The CEATEC Suite has been newly established to create a special zone for B-to-B. EATEC JAPAN's second new challenge is establishment of the new CEATEC Suite - a special zone dedicated to B-to-B. To be held between October 6th (Wed.) and October 8th (Friday), the CEATEC Suite is a whole new tradeshow that offers more convenient booth setup and focuses mainly on enhancing customer relations by harmonizing business negotiations. The CEATEC Suite offers a number of benefits and advantages such as reduced costs (booth fees are 80% of the normal fees), more efficiency (staging and audio volume restrictions, reducing the number of hired assistants, and limiting the number of booths to 10 or less to streamline booth operations), and improved resource management (held for a 3-day period on weekdays to save on energy, etc.) to create a venue that interconnects products and technologies to business. What's more, being held together with CEATEC JAPAN 2010 - allowing exhibitors to exhibit in both shows - will further enhance its potential. The CEATEC Suite will be divided into the ICT and Electronics Zones, with all products exhibited at CEATEC JAPAN also on display. CEATEC JAPAN Organizing Committee wishes to invite companies that 1) want to create an exhibit that is directly related to business; 2) are not considering large-scale exhibits; and 3) seek more efficient use of their budget by taking part in the CEATEC Suite.

Please note that for CEATEC JAPAN 2010, favorable booth allocations for exhibitors can be obtained if you apply by the Primary Application deadline, which makes you eligible to participate in the initial booth allocation lottery. The primary application deadline for the CEATEC Suite is also April 30th (Friday), 2010, with booth locations determined during the primary booth allocation. The secondary application deadline for CEATEC JAPAN 2010 is May 28th (Friday), 2010 and exhibitors will be eligible to participate in the secondary booth allocation lottery.
